This painting and it’s very good friend Hillside were painted together on my double easel (very big! ) I enjoy pairing works whilst I paint and playing with colour and composition.
Both these works were inspired by a small hamlet on Dartmoor close to where I live. The colour in the evening sun of the hills surrounding this area is amazing and really inspiring to work with. The contours of the moorland seem to just hug and engulf each house whilst their white walls almost make the hills surrounding pop with colour.
