A important part of Charlie’s practice is gathering layers of thought, this painting is therefore aptly titled to reflect this aspect. For Charlie the layers are found through finding compositions in her everyday life, taking photos, finding text extracts and drawing. She collects these over time to form a narrative composition, that me or you may not ( at first ) see the connections in the layers, but that is the most engaging part of these works discovering those thoughts.
